Last week, I wrote about some of my summer reading. This week I wanted to share some other information from Susan Cain, author of Quiet. Ms. Cain and her work has emerged as important to schools. I began following her in earnest last year, but it is only this summer that I grasped how complex her thoughts really are. I direct you to her work. Here are a couple of the ideas and thoughts that resonate with me, and they come from the mission/ vision of Quiet Revolution, the company she founded. I only cite two so you can go read more from this thought provoking and very helpful author and her team.
“ to unlock the power of introverts for the benefit of us all”
“ Be Kind. To each other, to our partners, to our global community”
Schools are often difficult places for quiet and reflective students. I agree. At Craig, we are not any different because of the nature of our students and their educational needs. We are at an advantage because our classes are small and we meet students where they are in their educational and emotional journey. I hope each one of us help our students who are less vocal to thrive.
