Campus and Location
The Craig School has dual campuses with The Craig Lower/Middle School located in Mountain Lakes and The Craig High School located in Lincoln Park. The schools are less then 8 miles apart.
Our teachers are subject area specialists and specifically trained to work with students with learning disabilities. Most staff members are dual certified, holding certifications in both their subject as well as Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSD) certification.
The Craig School is accredited by both the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA) and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and hold organizational memberships in the NJ Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS), Learning Disabilities Association (LDA), and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). Our course requirements exceed the NJ graduation requirements. In addition to our accreditations, educational memberships, and meeting all of New Jersey’s graduation requirements, we are also a test site center for both the ACT and SAT, providing all testing accommodations that our students might require.
In addition to providing the courses required to meet New Jersey gradation standards and following the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards, The Craig School incorporates extensively- researched, strategy based instructional techniques into our curriculum and our classrooms.
The goal of The Craig School is to provide a challenging, college-prep program while offering comprehensive LD support services that meet the individualized needs of our students. The accomplishments of our graduates are the truest testament that our academic program has met that goal. Our graduates have been accepted to a variety of college programs including Rochester Institute of Technology, Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, American University, Centenary College, Clarkson University, Curry College, Fairleigh Dickenson University, Johnson & Wales University, Lesley University, Lynn University, Russell Sage College, University of New Hampshire, University of New Haven, and the University of Vermont to name a few.
