| Student Council Hosts Drive for Marines |

During December 2009, the student council organized a special drive to collect items for U.S. Marines stationed in Afghanistan. The students wrote letters and brought in snacks, chocolate, coffee, tea, playing cards, batteries and toiletries among other things to send to the soldiers. At the end of the two-week period, over eight boxes of items were collected, and a local mom, whose son is stationed in Afghanistan picked up the boxes to send to him and his fellow marines. The drive is one of many community service projects sponsored by the student council throughout the school year. Ms. Folino and Ms. Thomson serve as faculty advisers.
