CRAIG HIGH INFO LETTER (CHIL): See you 2025!
Before we head off into our holiday break, we just wanted to thank all of our families and students who joined us at last weekend's Chili Throwdown. Our final tallies were 14 Chilis, 2 busted Pinatas, 100 Churro Donuts, a Jets win, and a great community turnout including some alumni families. Special thanks to the Martinez Family and Mrs. Cap for repping CHS with their amazing Chilis.
And a big thanks to Mr. Furlong for all of his behind-the-scenes work and volunteering most of his kids to pull off another amazing Craig event.
Next up on our Craig Community Calendar will be our Craig Middle School Alumni Night on Friday, January 10th. The event will be held on our Mt. Lakes campus in the Wilson building in the Reeth-Furlong Gym from 6-8 PM. Students and Parents can RSVP at RSVP Link Craig Alumni Night to make sure we don’t run out of pizza and cake!
That is followed by our annual CHS Virtual Grad Panel on Monday, January 13th. We are working on assembling a special panel of former Craig grads who will be sharing their personal insights into navigating the college landscape from choosing a school and major to the resources available to students with learning disabilities. The panel will be Virtual so we will share the Zoom Link and speaker bios prior to the panel. In the meantime, save the date!
Have an amazing Holiday Break and we will see you in the New Year,
Dr. Cap

CHS Class of 2024, Halle Year One at Dynamy: The last time we saw Halle, she was throwing her graduation cap into the air and getting ready to head off to Worcester, Massachusetts, to start her post-secondary adventures at Dynamy, a 5th-year internship gap year program. On her recent return home, she made CHS her first stop.
After catching up with all of her former CHS peers, she sat down with Dr. Cap and shared about her first year at Dynamy and what she missed about Craig High. Halle’s internship is with preschool children in a local daycare. When she is not working at the daycare, she is taking care of her house responsibilities along with her roommates, as well as meeting with her advisor and attending various life skills classes at Dynamy. Other internship options that she shared that are available through Dynamy include working at the Wooster Art Museum, a local animal sanctuary, and even the Worcester Railers who are a professional hockey affiliates of the NY Islanders. She also shared that she is exploring the option of taking a college course through a Dynamy partnership with nearby Clark University.
“When I think back at my time at CHS, I think of a family that I miss greatly. Having friends across all grades and working with teachers that really knew me, made all the difference in my confidence and success today. Some could say they were part of a school community in high school, I would say I was part of a school family and it is so great to visit my family”
Badger Hoops Starts Up After the New Year: The CHS JV Basketball Team will start its winter season after the Holiday Break. This co-ed team is open to all Craig High students and is a fantastic opportunity to improve your fitness and basketball skills while being part of a supportive team. Practices will be held at the CHS Gym from 3 PM to 4:30 PM on the following Tuesdays:
We’ll finalize the game schedule in early January. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Coach Cap at ECaparulo@craigschool.org
