We have a couple of school calendar changes for May that we would like to put on your radar. Each year the students ask if we can have a delayed opening after the prom and I always tell them that if they get close to 100% of all students and teachers attending then we will consider it. Well, we have hit that almost 100% mark so on THURSDAY, May 16th we will be having a delayed opening. Students can arrive as early as 9:30AM, classes will begin at 10AM.
Another calendar addition for May is a special SCHOOL CLOSED DAY on Friday, May 24th leading into the Memorial Day weekend. It is a day given back to the Craig Community by our Head of School. Our hope is that it will make this year's Memorial Day Weekend even more special for our families. We will reach out to all transportation companies to update them on our calendar changes. The month of May just keeps getting better!

CHS Senior Maleia Interns with the Montville Library: Craig High 12th grader, Maleia, has been interning weekly at the Montville Township Public Library throughout the school year. Some of her favorite responsibilities include weekly storytime, where local toddlers from the community come to the library for a themed story and activity. Storytime themes are usually planned around the calendar to teach children about holidays, different seasons, or other fun topics like food, animals, etc. Maleia also assists with shelving books and keeping the children’s section organized - which is no small task, as the library’s youngest patrons certainly keep her busy at work!
She also works with the librarians on prepping for upcoming programs and events. Some events that she took the lead on this year included the Lunar New Year, Ramadan craft prep, Valentine’s Day, and Pi Day, where she crafted example projects for the children to follow. Maleia shared that the library has become her “home away from home” as she enjoys connecting with the staff and children who visit. She has learned much about the profession and perhaps will consider pursuing this as a career path after high school.
