9th Graders Attend Workshop on “Social Media & the Internet-How to Protect Yourself”:  Last month, our 9th graders attended a very important and timely workshop on Digital Citizenship.

Our guest speaker was Montville Student Resource Officer, Detective Robert Manieri who presented on “Social Media & the Internet: Dangers and Accountability”.   A few of the topics he addressed included Privacy specific to pictures we share, defining cyberbullying and the potential legal; consequences, the dangers of communicating with strangers online, and how to protect ourselves and our personal information.

Detective Manieri closed with tips on how to handle all of the discussed scenarios including telling a trusted adult and saving screenshots as proof.
