Craig High Information Letter (CHIL): Week of January 20th
Notes from the CHS Director
Last week, we hosted our annual Craig High School Virtual Grad Panel. For those who were able to join us, we hope you were inspired by our guest grad speakers and the insights they shared into navigating the college experience from the perspective of a student with learning disabilities.
Here are a few of the key insights shared by our grads that resonated with our current CHS students who also joined the viewing-
Matt Maisel, CHS Class of 2023, University of Arizona and Pursuing a BS in Urban and Regional Development with a minor in Sustainable Built Environment and Entrepreneurship “The quickest way to meet others that share your interests is to join college clubs and organizations. In my case, I joined a fraternity, a real estate club, and the sports management club”
Luke Danza, CHS Class of 2023, Beacon College in Leesburg, Florida, and Leaning toward a degree in Business Management with a focus on Hospitality “Keep using something like your CHS Assignment book. Helps to keep you organized and on top of those far-off assignments. They are due before you know it and I would advise not waiting until the day before or expecting an extension”
Grace Callahan, CHS Class of 2024, Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, and Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Education with the ultimate goal of pursuing a career as an Orton-Gillingham Reading Specialist. “Get to know your professors and let them get to know you so that you are more than just a name on an attendance list in a large classroom”.
Nate Crisci, CHS Class of 2024, Iona University in New Rochelle, New York, and Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Media with a major in Communications “Avoid morning classes at all costs especially if you are not a morning person. Don’t learn that the hard way”
Kevin Soutar, CHS Class of 2021, New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey, Graduated from County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey (www.ccm.edu) with an associate degree in Information Technology with a Cyber Security Focus “Community College is a great option to build credits and keep college costs low before transferring to another school to pursue your BA or BS”
For those that were unable to attend, you are in luck! Here is the recording and password to view our CHS Grad Panel 2025 ZOOM (Passcode If Needed: SHz%5*9V).

CHS Student Spotlight
CHS Senior Madison Accepted to Dean College: We are thrilled to share that CHS 12th grader, Madison has been accepted to Dean College in the Arts and Entertainment Management Program. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Madison has also been offered over 30K in annual scholarships from Dean for her academic achievements during her CHS career.
Founded in 1865, Dean is located in Franklin, Massachusetts, and is home to 1200 students. They offer a variety of associate’s and bachelor’s degrees including acting, criminal justice, family and childhood studies, education, exercise science, marketing, and sports marketing. Dean students also have the opportunity to participate in many popular extracurriculars such as the Badminton Club, the Power 88 college radio station, outdoor recreation opportunities, and various community service activities. Dean offers fantastic accessibility services through the Arch Learning Community. Within Arch, students receive three hours of academic coaching per week, attend weekly seminar classes, and participate in workshops and tutoring sessions. For high school students interested in a pre-college experience, Dean offers summer programs in Forensics and Sports Broadcasting. Congratulations Madison, and let’s go Bulldogs!
