COMMUNITY NEWS

TRIMESTER EXAM TREATS Parent Outreach: According to food scientists, there is a possible correlation between exam outcomes and snacks so we are not taking any chances!  Craig High School students will be taking Trimester Exams starting this Friday, November 22, Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26. PACS is helping to organize our annual TRIMESTER TREATS for the students to enjoy on exam days. Here is where you come in!  Please sign up here (Trimester Treats Snack Roster )

and help us build our Trimester Treat table.  We will be accepting snacks all the way up to our 1st exam morning on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22. As always, thank you for all you do for our students!

CALLING ALL CHILI CHEFS-Register Your Chili for The Annual Craig School Chili Throwdown (Sunday, December 15th): We have our save-the-date for this year’s Craig School Chili Throwdown (Sunday, December 15th from 1PM-3PM on our Montville Campus). Now we need our Chili Chefs!

We have crowned quite a few Chili Champs in the past 20 years and are looking to make this year’s the biggest and best Chili Throwdown ever.  In order to make that happen, we need the best Chili that the Craig Community has to offer so we are looking for our Craig Families to break out that family chili recipe and register to put it to the test.  Here are the Chili Awards Categories that are awaiting this year’s champs.

Craig School Chili Awards 2024

  • The "Master Chef Junior" Award (Student Chili)
  • The "Where is the Beef" Award (Best Vegetarian Chili)
  • The "Disney” Award (Best Mild Chili)
  • The "Off the Scovil Scale" Award (Spicy Award)
  • The "Enigma" Award (Most Unique Chili/Original Ingredient)
  • The "Golden Ladle" Award (Best Overall)

We are looking for Mild to Spicy, traditional to one-of-a-kind.  We are also looking to crown a student champ in our “Master Chef Junior” category!  You can use the following link to register your Chili (Chili Cook-Off 2024)  and don't worry if you don't know what kind of Chili you're going to make right now.  Just enter TBA in that line.  All you need is a Crock Pot, a Ladle, and a great name for your family chili!  Any questions, email Mr. Furlong at NFurlong@craigschool.org

CHS LUNCH DELIVERY PROGRAM-Ordering for DECEMBER Lunches: The ordering window for DECEMBER Lunches is now open starting this Monday, November 18th through next Monday, November 25th.  To place orders, go to www.myfooddays.com  If you have any questions, reach out to our CHS Lunch Program Co-ordinator, Ms. Jahn at ajahn@craigschool.org

We do have a picture retake day scheduled for later this month (WEDS Nov 20th) for any students who were absent, wore a wrinkled hoodie, or would just like a do-over.  If you would like a retake, reach out to Mrs. Barnet at TBarnet@craigschool.org and she will add your teen to the retake roster.

CHS Parent Membership Drive 2024-The Push for 100%:  CHS Parent Membership in PACS is closing in on the 40% mark.  Let’s see if we can break the 50% by our next Newsletter!

You can find the PACS membership forms under the COMMUNITY RESOURCES tab on our school website or just click on https://www.craigschool.org/parents/pacs/.   Slide down to the bottom of the page where you will find the PACS WELCOME and MEMBERSHIP FORM 24-25 High School pdf link.  Fill it out, write the check, and send both in with your teen.  Let’s make it happen for our kids and teachers.
