SAVE THE DATE-Picture Day MONDAY, November 6th: Monday, November 6th is picture day at Craig High. Our 12th grade has a little different process than the rest of our grades so here are a few things you need to know:
FOR 12th Graders- Dress to impress. If you do wear a suit and tie, you can always change after the pictures. Senior Parents WILL ORDER ONLINE AFTER PICTURES ARE TAKEN. Do NOT place an order beforehand. All seniors will have 2 different portraits taken - with and without a cap/gown - which will then be posted online for your approval. You will receive instructions for placing your orders when you receive proofs of the portraits. Till then, here is a pic of last year’s 12th graders on Picture Day to inspire our current seniors.
9th, 10th, and 11th Graders- Order forms will be coming home this week (with the 1st-trimester progress reports). These order forms are for grades 9, 10 & 11 ONLY. You have two options. You can complete the order form and return it with payment by Picture Day or you may order online by:
We do have a picture retake day scheduled in December for any students who are absent or would just like a do-over. All our students will be getting their pictures taken regardless of ordering pics or not. We need to create student IDS for the new school year so as we tell our students, if you are going to have to get your picture taken anyway, you might as well look good! So on the Friday prior to picture day, we will have our annual “Tie Tying” Clinic where we will teach the fine art of just that! Any questions about the Lifetouch website, ordering pictures, or picture day itself reach out to our Picture Day Coordinator, Mrs. Tartaglia at KTartaglia@craigschool.org
Craig High Annual “Great Pumpkin” 2023: Last week was “idea” week where students and teachers alike did their research to see what’s the latest craze in Pumpkin design! This week is all about picking out your pumpkin and visualizing your pumpkin plan. Entries can be brought into school starting Monday, October 30th so that preceding weekend is perfect carving time! On Tuesday, October 31st, we will hold a CHS Community vote to designate “The Great Pumpkins” for 2023! In our pumpkin gallery below, you will find pictures of a few pumpkins that have made the Great Pumpkin Hall of Fame representing the Pumpkin Class of 2021.

Parent “Halloween Bash” Candy Sign Up: Craig High will be hosting our annual Student Halloween Bash on Tuesday, October 31st. In addition to our Great Pumpkin Contest, we will also be having a costume contest and our kids will be doing some classroom trick-or-treating. We have had the teachers select their favorite Halloween candy and we are asking our parents to help us fulfill our trick-or-treat game plan by sending in the candy from the survey list. Here is the sign-up link. All candy should be brought in by Mon, Oct 30th:

PACS HS Parent Membership Drive 2023-The Push for 100%: Our goal for this school year is for 100% of our CHS families to be a part of PACS. This essential school community group supports so many amazing opportunities to celebrate our students and teachers throughout the school year. Since our last outreach, we have climbed to almost 50% of Craig High families joining so we are getting closer! For those who have not joined, you can find the PACS membership under the COMMUNITY RESOURCES tab on our school website (https://www.craigschool.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/New-Membership-Form-HS.pdf). Let’s make it happen for our kids and teachers.
Throughout this upcoming week, we will be hosting our 8th-grade students as a part of our annual SHADOW PROGRAM. This program allows us to share a little of CHS while building some cross-campus community. We wrap up our week with our 1st Trimester Progress Reports which mark our mid-way point of the first trimester. They will be coming home this Thursday with your teen so be on the lookout.
COACHes will be reviewing progress reports with their COACHees starting this Friday into next week so that our students can be active participants in understanding their progress in specific classes, gain clarity on areas they need to continue to work on, ask questions for clarity, and most importantly be a part of the game planning process for the 2nd half of the trimester. If you have any questions about a specific Progress Report, feel free to reach out to that teacher directly.
Also, a few reminders to put on your radar. November lunch orders are due this TUES (Oct 24th), Candy sign-ups and delivery for our Halloween Bash are due next MON, October 30th, and student Great Pumpkin entries can be brought in next MON and TUES (Oct 30 and 31). We will give our early pumpkin entries a spritz of bleach and water to keep them fresh until voting time! And just a gentle reminder about our community goal for 100% of the Craig High families to join PACS. We are so close. That’s all we got. Have a great week,
Dr. Cap
CHS Badgers Cross Country Run in Lincoln Park 5K: Last weekend, a trio of Badgers ran in the annual Lincoln Park 5K. Senior Captain, Grace who ran this race last year, put up her best 5K time ever and it was an amazing site to see the whole cross-country team running with her to the finish line! Freshman Max Gross and Julian Barrows both ran their first official 5K and both set some solid times that they will test at our next 5K race at the end of the month. Congrats to Coach Crum and the Craig High XC Team for representing our school so proudly!
