Save the Date: GrandFriends Day, Tuesday, November 26: Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 8:20 AM to 12:00 PM at The Craig Lower & Middle School! This special event gives your child the opportunity to invite their VIP- whether it’s a grandparent, aunt, uncle, tutor, or close family friend - to spend the day with them. Parents are welcome to join, but it’s not required. We can't wait to celebrate the important people in our students' lives. Stay tuned for more details!

Save the Date: Annual Chili Throwdown, Sunday, December 15: Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 15th and plan to join us for our  Annual Chili Throwdown at The Craig High School Campus in Montville. We are looking for the best chili that the Craig Community has to offer.

We also need tasters to help us crown our chili champs.  So whether you make chili, or not, plan on joining us for a day full of food, fun, and community!  Enjoy the Giants and Jets games, bring the kids, and connect with friends.  We’re stepping it up this year - don’t miss out!  Stay tuned for more details!

NOTES FROM DIRECTOR

Parent-Teacher conferences will be starting next week, November 4th. They will run every morning from November 4th through the 15th, as well as all day on Thursday, November 7th and 8th. All conferences will be virtual and you can sign up using one of the links below. You will sign up for one conference that will include your child’s team.

All conferences include the Reading, Orton-Gillingham, Language Arts, and Math teachers. The majority of the focus is spent on these areas, therefore either the Science or Social Studies teacher will be present. If your child’s Science teacher is present in the fall, then the Social Studies teacher will be present in the spring, and vice versa.

Parent/teacher conference is a time for parents to receive important information about their child and for teachers to hear your perspective about your child’s needs. Our main goal is to explain and answer questions about your child as well as address your concerns. If there is anything you know you want to discuss or questions you want answered, feel free to email your child’s team before the conference so we can use your time to best help you. The parent-teacher connection truly helps the teacher-student connection. We look forward to meeting with you and sharing your child’s progress thus far.

Have a great weekend,

Jennifer Guthrie
