This webinar offers insights into interpreting and understanding documentation for learning disabilities (LD) and ADHD. Topics include the structure and key elements of diagnostic reports, an overview of common assessment tools and measures, techniques for score interpretation, and strategies for analyzing self and collateral reports. The goal is to equip participants with the knowledge to identify patterns of strengths and needs, enabling more effective support for individuals with LD and ADHD.
Rebecca Whittaker Matte, M.S. is a Professor of Education at Landmark College in Putney, Vermont. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of New Hampshire and a M.S. in Human Service Administration from New England College. Since the early 90s, her career has been shaped by her engagement with neurodiversity, accumulating nearly 30 years of expertise in learning disabilities as they impact student transitions to college and career environments. A proponent of strengths-based methods, Rebecca is a certified consultant for The Birkman Method and Gallup Clifton Strengths, as well as an ICF Certified Coach (ACC). Her teaching philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach, tailored to support students often overlooked by traditional educational systems. Rebecca is deeply involved with a NSF S- STEM grant, aiming to enhance support for academically talented, low-income, neurodivergent students in STEM through innovative programming and mentorship. Passionate about her work, she finds daily joy in teaching and mentoring. Outside of her professional life, she is a devoted caretaker to a mischievous rescue dog and stays active, adapting to the annoying challenges of aging.
